چکیده

Recently, there has been considerable interest in investigating quantum entanglement in two-electron systems, such as two-electron model atoms and quantum dots. In this work, the quantum entanglement of the helium atom and helium-like ions are explored using the two-electron wave functions constructed by the B-spline basis. As a measure of the spatial entanglement, the linear entropy of the reduced density matrix is investigated for the ground state and the singlet excited 1sns1S states, with n = 2–10, of the helium atom. The variation of the spatial entanglement with the nuclear charges Z = 2–15 for the helium-like ions is reported. Results are compared with the existing predictions.

Characteristics of the Temporal Behavior of Entanglement between Photonic Binomial Distributions and a Two-Level Atom in a Damping Cavity

In the present study, temporal behavior of entanglement between photonic binomial distributions and a two-level atom in a leaky cavity, in equilibrium with the environment at a temperature T, is studied. In this regard, the master equation is solved in the secular approximation for the density matrix, when the initial photonic distribution is binomial, while the atomic states obey the Boltzmann...

Coherent Control of Quantum Entropy via Quantum Interference in a Four-Level Atomic System

The time evaluation of quantum entropy in a four-level double- type atomic system is theoretically investigated. Quantum entanglement of the atom and its spontaneous emission fields is then discussed via quantum entropy. It is found that the degree of entanglement can be increased by the quantum interference induced by spontaneous emission. The phase dependence of the atom-field entanglement is...

Deterministically Entangling Two Remote Atomic Ensembles via Light-Atom Mixed Entanglement Swapping

Entanglement of two distant macroscopic objects is a key element for implementing large-scale quantum networks consisting of quantum channels and quantum nodes. Entanglement swapping can entangle two spatially separated quantum systems without direct interaction. Here we propose a scheme of deterministically entangling two remote atomic ensembles via continuous-variable entanglement swapping be...

Distant Entanglement of Macroscopic Gas Samples

One of the main ingredients in most quantum information protocols is a reliable source of two entangled systems. Such systems have been generated experimentally several years ago for light [1–5] but has only in the past few years been demonstrated for atomic systems [6–9]. None of these approaches however involve two atomic systems situated in separate environments. This is necessary for the cr...

Entanglement as measure of electron–electron correlation in quantum chemistry calculations

In quantum chemistry calculations, the correlation energy is defined as the difference between the Hartree–Fock limit energy and the exact solution of the nonrelativistic Schrödinger equation. With this definition, the electron correlation effects are not directly observable. In this report, we show that the entanglement can be used as an alternative measure of the electron correlation in quant...
